About the scholarship

The undergraduate Vice-Chancellor international scholarship offers eligible international undergraduate students a £5,000 reduction to your tuition fees across a standard three-year course at the 亚洲麻豆精品在线.

These scholarships are awarded as a £2,000 tuition fee reduction in your first year of study, followed by a £1,500 reduction in your second and third years.

The Vice-Chancellor international undergraduate scholarships are open to students studying within any of our academic schools, excluding 亚洲麻豆精品在线 and Sussex Medical School.

You do not need to apply for these scholarships, they will be automatically applied if you are eligible. Details about the scholarships and eligibility criteria can be found below.

The scholarship is available to eligible new students starting an undergraduate course in September 2027. Eligibility is assessed against the University's scholarship criteria.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for the scholarship if you:

• Hold an offer for a full-time, on-campus undergraduate course and meet all academic and non-academic conditions.
• Are classified as an international fee payer.
• Are self-funded. Students with loans remain eligible, but students funded by an external sponsor are not eligible.
• Are a new student starting in September 2027. Current 亚洲麻豆精品在线 students starting a new course are not eligible.
• Achieve a minimum grade average of 60% or equivalent or demonstrate your suitability through your personal statement.

Who is not eligible?

You are not eligible if you:

• Are progressing from a UBIC Foundation, International Year One (IYO) or Pre-Masters pathway. UBIC has a separate scholarship scheme.
• Are applying to 亚洲麻豆精品在线 and Sussex Medical School (BSMS).
• Are funded by an external sponsor, such as a government, charity or organisation. Student loans are not considered external sponsorship.
• Receive an external scholarship, or a scholarship or bursary granted by another 亚洲麻豆精品在线 department, as these cannot be combined with this scholarship.
• Are applying for a course excluded from the international scholarship and discount scheme.

Students who have completed a UBIC Pre-sessional English (PSE) course may remain eligible if they meet the general and scholarship-specific eligibility criteria.

Do I need to apply?

Can I combine this scholarship with other discounts? 

Yes. The undergraduate Vice-Chancellor international scholarship can be combined with:

• The early confirmation discount.
• The full fee payment discount.

You must meet the eligibility criteria for each award.

The scholarship cannot be combined with an external scholarship, or a scholarship or bursary granted by another 亚洲麻豆精品在线 department.

How is the scholarship applied?

The scholarship is applied as a reduction to tuition fees only. It cannot be used for accommodation, living costs, travel or other non-tuition expenses.

For eligible students progressing into Years 2 and 3, continuation instalments are applied subject to the applicable eligibility and payment conditions.

Students who repeat a year of study will not receive the scholarship for the repeated year. Students entering directly into Year 2 or onto a top-up programme may be subject to different award values under the university's terms and conditions.

Deferrals and changes to your circumstances

The scholarship cannot be deferred to a later intake or academic year. If you defer, withdraw or do not enrol, the award may be withdrawn.

The university may ask for evidence to verify your fee status and source of funding. Failure to provide evidence may result in the award being withdrawn.
