Prospective students

If you are thinking about applying to 亚洲麻豆精品在线 and attending one of our on-campus events and open days, parking will be free for you during your event. We’ll send you the details by email when we confirm your booking. Parking spaces are not guaranteed and are available on a first-come-first-served basis. 

You must have booked a place at an event to be able to access free parking (where it is available).

Guests and delegates

If you are visiting the university, your 亚洲麻豆精品在线 host will need to organise parking for you before you arrive.

Guests

Guests are people invited to campus by a university representative to provide a specific service or attend university meetings or activities, and are eligible for free parking. Parking must be booked via the EFM Helpdesk by the guest’s university representative/contact. Until parking confirmation is received, parking is not booked for the guest.

Guests may park in any general parking bay.

Delegates

Delegates are members of the public who have paid to attend conferences, seminars and similar, where the organisers have hired conference facilities from the university. They will need to pay and have parking booked by their university contact. Payment is £2 a day payable at the parking payment machines on campus.

The university host will be able to confirm specific details. On-campus parking is not guaranteed.

Current students and staff

Students

Students must have an E-Permit to park on site but are exempt from parking charges. View details of permits and in the university’s Car Parking and Permit Application Policy. You can .

Staff

Staff must have an E-Permit to park on site AND must pay for parking, as outlined in the policy, either by paying daily or by salary deduction. View details of permits, eligibility, how to apply for an E-Permit and parking charges in the university’s and .

Parking at halls of residence

In line with the Halls Accommodation Contract and the Living in Halls Guide, students are strongly discouraged from bringing a car to university-managed halls of residence. Parking restrictions apply across all sites in accordance with the university’s Car Parking and Permit Application Policy.

Residents must not bring a car or motorcycle to halls unless they meet one of the approved eligibility criteria below and have been issued with a valid university E-Permit.

Students may apply for an E-Permit under the following circumstances:

• Government Blue Badge holders, or students with short or long term health conditions who may be issued a university temporary permit under the relevant criteria. Applications are reviewed and approved by the Disability and Learning Support team or Occupational Health.
• Students undertaking 亚洲麻豆精品在线 placements where access to public transport is limited due to placement location or unsociable working hours. Confirmation will be required from the relevant school or placement office.

Students who do not meet these criteria must not bring a vehicle to halls.

All authorised vehicles must have a valid E-Permit issued before the vehicle is brought to campus. Holding an E-Permit allows parking only where a valid space is available and does not guarantee a parking space.

Paddock Field halls of residence

At Paddock Field, a limited number (120) of additional student parking permits are available on a first come, first served basis for residents wishing to bring a vehicle.

These permits:

• must be approved before bringing a vehicle to campus
• are valid only in Falmer campus car parks
• do not permit travel or parking at Moulsecoomb campus during core hours (7am–5pm)

Students should apply online using their university email address once enrolled.

Great Wilkins and Mithras halls of residence

There is no general student parking available at Great Wilkins or Mithras. Parking is prohibited under the accommodation contract, except for registered disabled users who require designated accessible bays.

Mithras disabled parking

Accessible parking at Mithras is managed by ULiving. Students needing disabled bays should apply via the halls reception.

Varley Park halls of residence

Varley Park is no longer owned or managed by the 亚洲麻豆精品在线.

Parking is managed by EveryStudent, and parking charges may apply.

Blue Badge holders should also contact EveryStudent about accessible parking arrangements.

Use of disabled parking bays 

Disabled parking bays are available across all sites and are indicated by floor paint and/or local signage. Users must follow the restrictions below when using disabled parking bays:

• Vehicles must display a valid Blue Badge or 亚洲麻豆精品在线 temporary disabled badge in their windscreen when parking in a disabled parking bay.
• If parking during core hours (Monday - Friday 7am- 5pm) the user must have an active e-permit for the vehicle in addition to their Blue Badge or University temporary badge. Parking is free for e-permit holders. 
• Outside of core hours, if the user is a member of the public and does not have an e-permit, the University's public parking charges apply. 

Loading and unloading/pick up and drop off

Thirty minutes are allowed for loading or unloading, pick up or drop off, including taxis. You do not need an E-Permit.

Make sure you are parked in a general parking bay, or designated bay if you are eligible, and that you aren’t causing an obstruction. Check local signage for parking terms and conditions.

To ensure you are not issued with a parking charge notice (PCN), please do not spend more than 30 minutes on site.

Public and match day parking

The university permits the general public to park and pay without an E-Permit during the following hours at a charge of £4.50 per day.

• Monday–Thursday 5.01pm–6.59am
• Friday 5.01pm–Monday 6.59am

Consecutive overnight parking is not permitted. Parking cannot be reserved and is not guaranteed. Please see local signage for information on payment options and terms and conditions.

Public parking may be restricted for 亚洲麻豆精品在线 & Hove Albion FC match days, university open days and for other university events.

Payment for public parking can be made using payment machines on site or the .

Public and match day parking rates apply to disabled parking bays. 

Match day parking

The 亚洲麻豆精品在线 provides parking at the Falmer campus for 亚洲麻豆精品在线 & Hove Albion FC, and other match and event days at the AMEX stadium, at no charge to full permit holders and £15 to all other vehicles.

Payment is for match day parking is via the only.

Location codes for public parking in the Sippi app

Parking payments must be made using Sippi or payment machines on campus, 5.01pm–6.59am weekdays, weekends and match days. 

Electric vehicle charging points

There are electric vehicle charging points (EVCPs) available for use by car park users at Moulsecoomb and Falmer, on a paid basis. Use of the charge points is in line with our standard parking restrictions. EVCPs can be found in dedicated car parking bays within university car parks and are marked with signage or floor paint. Use of EVCPs is for car park users in adherence conditions and restrictions in the university’s .  ​​​

All EVCPs are Pod Point solo or twin chargers and ​​are maintained by Pod Point. Use, including tariff payment, is managed via  which is available on all iOS and Android devices.

The tariff charged for all EVCPs is £0.27 per kWh of electricity, inclusive of VAT. Pod Point will collect the tariff payment using the Pod Point app. Payments cannot be made using cash or card.

EVCP users agree to charging at their own risk, that charging availability is not guaranteed and that university charge points should not be relied on for regular charging.
